The long awaited and much anticipated feature film Three Blind Mice will have a limited release in selected cinemas around the country from August 20. The Hobart premiere at the State Cinema will take place on Thursday 20 August with tickets on sale to the general public. Cast and crew from the film will be in attendance with a Q&A after the screening on Thursday 3 September.
Written, directed and featuring Matthew Newton, Three Blind Mice also stars Ewen Leslie, Toby Schmitz, Pia Miranda, Gracie Otto, Jacki Weaver and Bud Tingwell, being Bud’s last on screen appearance.
Three young Navy officers hit Sydney for one last night on land before being shipped over to the Gulf to fight. Sam (Ewen Leslie) has been mistreated at sea and is going AWOL, Dean (Toby Schmitz) has a fiancé (Pia Miranda) and the future in-laws to meet, and Harry (Mathew Newton) just loves playing cards. Throughout the night the boys lose each other, find themselves, and along the way discover courage, friendship and redemption. Funny yet psychological drama where the narrative is told through multiple viewpoints. Three Blind Mice also features the music of Wes Carr.
